Diet tip: Be aware of what you're eating

Good tips about being aware of what you're eating. I eat in front of the TV all the time. I also eat by myself quite a bit, so I read when I go out so I don't freak out pretty women by staring.

Not good for the diet. Distractions can keep you from being aware of what you're eating. I need to do better. Bet you do, also.

Proper form for crunches

Good video showing the proper technique for crunches. I make the mistake of bending my neck forward and thinking that's part of the crunch.

I know, I'm lame.

But, it's always good to learn form and fundamentals for performance and injury prevention.

Walkvest exercise video

Valerie Bertinelli is out promoting her new book, and must've talked about the weighted walkvest that she seemed to be endorsing/promoting several years ago (?) when she gave Rachel Ray one during a segment of that show. The intarwebs are all abuzz about it, which is how it came to my attention.

Here's my thoughts: there's no need for weighted walkvest until you're able to perform the exercises below with your own bodyweight. At that point, you'll probably be at a plateau and will need more resistance to spur the body on. So, check out the video below, but if you're out of shape just use this as a guide for a bodyweight exercise routine.

The 410 workout from FeedTheFitness

FeedTheFitness at YouTube has some videos with some kick-butt workout music. This is the 410 workout, and it consists of 5 rounds timed of:

  • 10 medicine ball burpees
  • 10 hang cleans
  • 10 front squats
  • 10 deadlifts

Modify these things to suit your fitness level, now. Don't hurt yourself trying to replicate what someone in shape can do.
